The long awaited day...

I've officially learned not to mention my son's birthday until the day before. It's all we've heard about for weeks! Well, I'm a mean mom and my kids are only gonna get a big party every other year so we just did family stuff this time around. All he wanted was Transformers and Optimus Prime. Grandma and Papa Pew came to make sure he got good and spoiled. 2 nights before his birthday he fell off his bed and banged up his face. Not pretty!

I don't know if any little boy has ever stolen so many hearts as mine. He is sweet, friendly, funny, smart, persuasive, coordinated and irreplaceable. If you've met him, you love him, and he loves you. Happy 4th Birthday Lukas!!

While my parents were here, my dad (and Brooklyn) helped me plant a little mini-garden of carrots, tomatoes, and broccoli.

Go figure that the one time she's actually dressed and ready we dig in the dirt.

Arizona

Since my sister's kids got sick while we were there, we decided to get Boe away from the contagion and escape to the Phoenix Zoo.

Joe's Farm Grill to celebrate Carly's birthday. Sad that Morgan couldn't come this time but we always have a blast! I swear, it's the most amazingly refreshing thing to be able to say whatever I want for a couple of hours. It's like meeting with a therapist every month, but better. Cause my therapists are funny, and crazy just like me. Plus there's food involved.

Preschool

Here's Lukas on his first day of preschool. He didn't seem nervous and I was holding up just fine but after I took a picture with his teacher, kissed him and got back in the car, my little Brookie girl was sobbing with big alligator tears rolling down her cheeks. "My Wukas!" It had not even occurred to me that they are almost never apart from each other and she might have a tough time. It broke my heart but I thought it was so sweet, too. I guess even with all the bickering at home, they really do love each other. Phew!

DIY - DeWitt Home Edition

I always feel so guilty when people don't get along with their in-laws. Mine are the BEST!! When we moved to Henderson, Becky said that she loves to paint and would come and help if we ever wanted to. Well, at first we were so dirt poor and there had already been so much change that I just wasn't gonna do it, but this year, I got tired of the white, so I took her up on the offer. She brought Doug along and not only did they work 12 hours and bring Shannon and Allan to entertained the kids, they bought the paint for us!!! I'm in love (with them and the paint).
