WestWOOD!

We took a quick trip (Mmm, crunchy ice) home this weekend for Brian's 10 year high school reunion. It was fun to see old friends and to find out we aren't the only ones still in school mode. As you can see, it's about as hard to get 7 grown men to pose for a picture as 7 toddlers.

Since I've decided to make this more of a journaling blog, I'll include a little story...

11 years ago, I was a 15 year-old sophomore and Brian was an 18 year-old senior at Westwood High School. I developed a bit of a crush on him but only admired from afar. Come to find out later, one day as Brian was walking through campus with his friend, Sumo Wilstead, he asked, "Sumo, who's that girl?" Sumo: "That's Celynda Pew, she's in my ward." Brian: "I could see myself marrying her someday." Later that year, Brian was permanently "excused" from his jewelry class and decided to spend his free time in Sister Gillins seminary class. He sat next to me there and we became friends. On the last day of school, he asked me to sign his yearbook. Knowing I would probably never see him again, I wrote this in his yearbook, "Give me a call sometime, maybe we'll get married or something." Well he did call me and now look at us. Crazy.

I never knew that story before. And does permanently excuse from jewelry class mean expelled? I think I know that story.

He was kicked out but I wasn't sure if I wanted my kids to read that later on.
